Before I knew it, what seemed like an endless and isolated Spring had finally rolled around into Summer. I was more than ready and very eager to start my third internship for Chegg, and despite knowing that all of it would be online, I was still excited. To start the first day of my third internship, I didn't need to drive on 101 South through traffic or take the train north; rather, I would get dressed, walk a few feet to my desk, and then open Zoom to get started. Like in my previous two internships, I had a Chegg company laptop which I would use for all of my Zoom calls and freelance work. At 9:00 am sharp, I opened a Zoom link to meet my new manager, Kevin.
Kevin was happy to meet me, and we briefly discussed my expectations and what I would need to achieve to get the most out of my internship. Just like in my previous two internships, I would mostly help Kevin with work, make presentations, and work with interns on projects that we would present to our teams at the end of the Summer. I told Kevin I was truly honored to be at Chegg for a third internship, and he was happy to get an intern who had some experience working at the company before. I knew the two of us would get along, which is vital to succeeding in the office space. After the debriefing, I found myself beginning to work on a small individual presentation regarding how Chegg could spread its influence on college campuses, something that was rather difficult due to most colleges still being shut down for COVID precautions and the fact that most colleges were between semesters; out for summer break. In order to get the best results and see how colleges were advertising on campus, I would have to get findings from the field and visit college campuses in order to see how things were being promoted during the pandemic.
