I started my first internship with Chegg in 2019. I was fortunate enough to get the internship right out of graduating high school and was thrilled to get started at such a large brand. Being fresh out of high school, I had never worked anything like the demanding office internship that Chegg had offered me. However, I was still quite excited to get started.

Day 1: I remember driving to Chegg Headquarters in Santa Clara, CA, about half an hour from my home. I was quite excited to start, but I was also incredibly nervous about starting for several reasons. Mostly, I felt I didn't belong there because I was so young and fresh out of grade school. I felt a whirlpool churn in my head and felt very overwhelmed at that moment, and a part of me felt like turning back. Nerves aside, at 8:55 am, I walked into the office. I was nervous yet ready for whatever Chegg offered me. I remember the distinct "egg-shaped chairs" and noticed the office was inviting and upbeat, nothing like I would have imagined. I met several people within minutes of walking in, including the then Head of Early Careers, Marina Isaac. After talking with her and meeting several fellow interns, I knew that despite the incoming internship being challenging, I somehow knew it would be incredibly fulfilling and awesome.
